The electrically switchable antennas leverage a simple switching mechanism that supports two distinct radiation patterns, seamlessly covering complementary hemispheres while maintaining the same polarization, or featuring mutually orthogonal polarizations. Unlike conventional solutions, our switchable antennas do not require additional cables to supply the switching signal or DC power. The RF coax cable that feeds the antenna also carries a switching signal. Hence, these antennas boast unparalleled ease of integration and installation. Using clip or tape mounting, they are as straightforward to use as traditional non-switchable embedded antennas, reducing time and effort for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Electrically switchable antennas are WiFi chipset-agnostic, requiring only a bias-T implementation on the WiFi board for use in WiFi 6E and WiFi 7-enabled devices, including routers, gateways, and industrial IoT solutions.
